MISSION
To provide qualified mental health services in an environment that fosters accountability, courage, empowerment, and intentionality.
VISION
To increase understanding and healing around mental health by efforts on the field, off the field, and in the spaces surrounding. To change, normalize and foster courage in pain and adversity.
Fostering Fortitude was created out of my passion for mentoring, helping and providing support for those that have a love for movement, exercise, and sports. To foster means to encourage and promote the development of. Fortitude means to have courage in pain or adversity. Here at Fostering Fortitude my goal is to foster a space in which we can draw upon your strengths, values and experiences to better develop coping skills for life’s adversity. I aim to create an environment that is holistic in effort to see challenges from all angles. I emphasize collaboration as you are the expert in yourself. My hope is to be a teammate for you on this journey, to help foster courage in pain and adversity and to empower you to advocate for your needs.
Sports have always been a large part of my life and is a major driver of the work that I do. Often times sports can be a great metaphor for life. They have the power to be more, teach us lessons we never thought we needed to know and challenge us to be resilient.
We often learn and grow through the game of life. Each season of our lives brings us new experiences, or perhaps might throw us a curve ball. We celebrate our wins, and learn from our losses. There are even elements of the game that we can control and elements that we have to learn to be present, mindful and ride out for a time. Like most seasons, they do pass and it can be helpful to have a teammate to lean on when moments get tough or when the buzzer sounds. Often what affects us off the field can impact the work we do on it.
Ready for a season of healing- lets work together!
